Steve Yelland


I joined JFR in 1990 when the product line included pallets and crates. My team and I developed a strategic plan to guide the company into the 21st century. In 2014, JFR acquired West Side Wood Products, a just-in-time producer of wood packaging. In 2015, we created JFR Holdings as the holding company. In 2017, we acquired Bruce Jones Contractors which specializes in wall panels and turn-key framing serving southern PA, Baltimore, and Washington.

While there is a sense of stability and tradition that comes from being part of a company that has been in my family for five generations, there is also a strong sense of responsibility. Even as we honor our history, I must constantly look to the future. I’m responsible for the company’s vision as well as planning and implementing strategy. I am constantly asking, “How can we do this better?” Our goal is to continuously improve and provide the very best products and services.

Like most industries, the industrial wood products and construction industries are experiencing rapid change. We have implemented employee training programs and technological system updates to keep pace with the way our customers do business. For example, we build and keep inventory allowing for 24-hour service for certain customers. This can be important to certain clients, giving them just-in-time and short-order capability.

I work with a family-owned company with a big vision and deep roots in Southern Pennsylvania and Maryland. Since joining the company, I’ve applied my in-depth knowledge of financial management, tax reporting, policy implementation, and strategies to maximize return on our investments.

My diverse finance and accounting experience has enabled me to help our business grow while staying true to our values and mission. Expanding our portfolio of companies under JFR Holdings allows us to serve customers better and the companies we’ve acquired, Bruce L Jones Contractors and West Side Wood Products align and complement J.F. Rohrbaugh and enhance our commitment to quality and superior customer service.

Serving as the COO for J. F. Rohrbaugh Co, Inc., West Side Wood Products and Bruce Jones Contractors, I oversee all day-to-day operations and ensure our strategy and focus on our customers is always at the forefront of everything we do.

Chip MacDonald

Sales Manager

Chip brings a diverse skill set to the wood packaging industry. He spent almost 20 years in the telecommunications industry, driving growth in the fiber optics sector and the changing market of the telephone industry, supporting large customers such as AT&T, IBM and Comcast. During his career, Chip has spent time in sales, product management, quality, operations and engineering. His diverse background brings depth when considering the customer's perspective and how best to support needs for maximum success. Chip holds a BS degree from Widener University and an MBA from Lebanon Valley College with emphasis on quantitative analysis. All of this experience makes him a good manager, providing coaching and risk analysis of opportunities for the Industrial Products team.

From a personal standpoint, Chip has coached youth tournament baseball on the regional level and taken teams to national events in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina. After taking a year off, Chip has gone back to coaching a talented travel team at the 11U level and mentoring youth again.

Marc Bechtel

Business Development Manager

I look for the big and the unusual in potential customers, and if someone’s asking, I tell them I help them get their big and unusual products from Point A to Point B providing custom wood crates, boxes, and pallets.

My team and I have vast experience designing wooden packaging, helping customers ship their products safely to destinations all over the world. Effectively protecting expensive products such as machinery parts, hydraulic motors, turbine engines and more is critical. Having a partner you can count on is necessary for quick turnaround and reliability. At J.F. Rohrbaugh and West Side Wood Products, we’ve become that trusted partner for companies throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region.

We maintain a 98 percent or better on-time delivery (OTD) rate and a less than 1% rejection rate at each location. That is the result of good process, strict manufacturing guidelines, and a culture of teamwork. If you need to ship the big and unusual, it may be worth exploring how we can help you.

I’m a fan of all Philly sports teams and love nothing more than watching my sons play ice hockey and baseball, learn Taekwondo and enjoy Nerf games.

John DiGuardi

Business Development Manager

Connecting clients to the high caliber custom wood packaging solutions they need is John’s priority as a Business Development Manager. John approaches business relationships with passion, forming the true partnerships that lead to long-term success. John says one of the best things about his job is the opportunity meet new people from different industries and the unique processes driving their success.

John brings a decade of experience in operations at a global leader in the beverage industry where he was involved in production, inventory control and procurement. While there, John’s interest in process improvement lead him to train in operational excellence initiatives including TPM and lean manufacturing. He also spearheaded a major cost savings logistics effort. His colleagues knew him to have a “passion for packaging.”

John enjoys spending time with family and friends, and loves animals. He has an uncanny ability to guess a dog’s name before its owner reveals it. John is an avid golfer, devoted fan of World Football, and dedicated historical documentary viewer. John lives in Wyomissing, PA with his fiancée and their pets.

However, the things we can control; being kind and friendly, being a resource, sharing our industry knowledge and quickly solving problems continue to set us apart.

One of our values is to provide exceptional service. As an Account Executive, I am responsible for internal support, researching and preparing product presentations, pricing quotes, facilitating sample products, and providing support for our customers. Working alongside my colleagues, we move quickly to ensure we’re meeting those expectations.

As the mother of three, I spend a lot of time watching and participating in sports activities with my children. I love music, reading and enjoying nature. Trees and sunflowers are always sure to capture my attention.
